Job summary

Bramble Theatre Company in Chicago seeks a driven Operations Director to manage finances, budgets, vendor contracts, and administrative systems for a dynamic theatre collective.

Reporting to the Artistic Director, you will oversee QuickBooks, revenue tracking, and strategic financial decisions while supporting the company’s artistic mission and community work. This is a contractor role with a starting stipend and growth as budgets evolve.

Qualifications

• Experience in business administration, arts administration, accounting, and/or operations coordination.
• Budgeting and bookkeeping experience.
• Accounts payable experience.
• Contract literacy.
• Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks, Excel, and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Manage company finances
• Pay vendors and contractors
• Bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online
• Tracking revenue through various platforms
• Create and maintain company and production budgets
• Approve reimbursements
• Consult on strategic financial decisions, such as setting ticket prices and approving expenses
• Create, review, and execute contracts from templates
• Assist with the development and maintenance of company systems
• Consult on other company and administrative needs, especially as they relate to the mission, finances, and sustainability of the Company
• Management of Company Calendar and scheduling meetings
• Maintain internal documentation in Company's Google drive
