Job summary

Odessa College is seeking a versatile theatre staff member to assist in rehearsals, performances, events, and daily departmental activities. You will support faculty, staff, and student productions with theatre preparation, equipment, props, costumes, set-up and clean-up, and audience services.

You will also participate in running crew tasks, operate lighting and sound cues, assist with scheduling, and help keep the house in order during performances.

• Move set pieces and props, manage quick changes, run cues backstage.
• Operate lighting and sound cues during tech week and performances.
• Help staff with scheduling, paperwork, and the callboard.
• Hang posters, post to social media, assemble programs, keep the house in order.

Specific Position Duties

Provides general assistance to the Theatre Department with rehearsals, performances, events, and daily departmental activities. Supports faculty, staff, and student productions by assisting with theatre preparation, equipment, props, costumes, set-up and clean-up, audience services, and other assigned tasks. Performs a variety of duties to help ensure theatre activities and productions operate safely, efficiently, and effectively. Responsibilities will vary based on the time of year.

Box Office & Front of House

• Sell and scan tickets, greet patrons, usher, and staff will-call.
• Build and paint sets, pull and organize costumes and props.

Running Crew

• Move set pieces and props, manage quick changes, run cues backstage.
• Operate lighting and sound cues during tech week and performances.

Administrative Support

• Help staff with scheduling, paperwork, and the callboard.

Marketing & House Management

• Hang posters, post to social media, assemble programs, keep the house in order.
