Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree can substitute several years of on-site experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee subcontractors to ensure safety, quality, and drawing compliance.
  • Maintain project schedule and escalate delays to the PM.
  • Prepare daily and quality inspection reports for review.
  • Capture progress photos and organize documentation.
  • Generate monthly progress reports for stakeholders.
  • Ensure latest design drawings are used; assist PM as needed.
  • Prepare contract extras and progress payments with PM.
  • Maintain on-site records per company requirements.

Job Description

Job Objective: The Site Superintendent 2 is responsible for overall on-site field operations and company representation on a project. Responsibilities include safety, quality control, scheduling, contracts, conformances to drawings, specifications, and customer relations for assigned projects. Work is performed under limited supervision on basic to highly complex projects. The Site Superintendent 2 may support other Superintendents or Construction Managers on large or complex projects, such as overseeing a specific scope(s) and/or subcontractor(s).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees subcontractors and construction to ensure work is safe, correct, meets quality control measures, and the intent of the drawings.
  • Ensures all work adheres to the established project schedule; escalates potential or actual project delays to Project Construction Manager.
  • Writes Daily Reports and Quality Inspection Reports for review with the site construction lead or Project Construction Manager which become record document.
  • Takes progress photographs of construction events and labels and identifies each photograph.
  • Prepares Monthly Progress Reports.
  • Ensures that contractors are using the latest design drawing revision for construction.
  • May provide assistance to Project Construction Manager.
  • May be responsible for key trade and/or subcontractor in support of overall project.
  • Prepares contract extras and progress payments for client approval working with Project Manager.
  • Provide proper correspondence with project management and clients such that all project issues are handled in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
  • Maintains on-site records and files per The Perry Group document control requirements.
  • Understands The Perry Group Quality Policy Statement and follows the Quality Systems Work Instructions.
Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Advanced computation skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with technology typically associated with engineering and construction projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction terminology.
  • Advanced ability to read and interpret construction documents and drawings.
  • Intermediate level personal computer skills.
  • Ability to identify problems and discrepancies, independently perform research and analysis of causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of contract specifications, quality plans, design and construction submittals, and drawings.
  • Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus nine (9) years of relevant experience or,
  • Associate degree plus six (6) years of relevant experience or,
  • Bachelor’s degree plus three (3) years of relevant experience The associate or bachelor's degree must be in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA30

CDM Smith is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This pay range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels for the geographic location assigned to the position. In addition to geographic location, a candidate’s salary is determined by several other factors including, but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, relevant work experience, skills, required certifications, and education/training.

Additional Compensation

All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
