Job summary

VF is seeking a Technical Developer for Apparel (Global TNF) to lead technical development from concept through production hand‑off. You will translate design intent into 3D and physical prototypes, ensure fit and BOM accuracy, and publish records and specs.

You will guide cross‑functional teams on construction and fit, manage prototype schedules, and collaborate with the Fit Team to align with TNF standards. Travel to overseas manufacturers may be required.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in apparel technical design.
  • Fluency in English, strong written and verbal communication.
  • Deep product knowledge, sourcing, and manufacturing experience.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to manage multiple timelines.
  • Working knowledge of BOMs, specs, tech packs, PLM/PDM systems, and 3D programs (Browzwear, Clo, Optitex).
  • High agility, adaptability, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Interest in innovation and learning new tools.
  • Growth mindset and enthusiasm for problem solving.

Technical Developer, Apparel, (Global TNF)
Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead moderate to high level technical development of assigned styles from design concept through to production ready hand‑off.
  • Partner with design to translate fit intent and aesthetic into 3D and physical prototypes, ensuring fit and construction/BOM meet or exceed expectations.
  • Own specifications, publish and maintain records, style files, BOMs, and samples.
  • Provide guidance to cross‑functional teams on construction and fit, leading fit reviews at each prototype stage.
  • Plan and track development schedules of prototypes.
  • Collaborate with the Fit Team to ensure alignment to TNF fit standards and guidelines.
  • Develop products, recommend constructions, and advise on proper fit to meet design and product management expectations.
  • Provide cost engineering solutions to meet target margins.
  • Schedule and lead fit sessions with support from senior TD/TD Manager.
  • Assist in developing departmental guidelines and standards for operational excellence.
  • Lead special projects, process or calendar optimization with supervision.
  • Commercialize assigned styles from SMS to bulk production, release specs for fit and BOM/Construction.
  • Travel overseas to manufacturers as required.
  • Use V‑stitcher 3D software to create P0's, concept patterns, P1's, or leverage vendor‑created 3D assets to shorten approvals.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in apparel technical design.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, fluency in English (other languages a plus).
  • Deep product acumen with knowledge of apparel development, sourcing, and manufacturing.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to manage multiple timelines.
  • Working knowledge of Bill of Materials, specs, tech packs, PLM/PDM systems, and 3D programs (Browzwear, Clo, Optitex).
  • High agility and adaptability, able to work under pressure and navigate change.
  • Keen interest in innovation and passion for product growth and learning new tools.
  • Growth mindset and enthusiasm for learning new tools and problem‑solving.

Compensation Package

Hiring Range: $69,984.00 – $87,480.00 USD annually. Incentive potential may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission.
