Job summary

AEP Service Corporation is seeking an entry-level associate to ensure critical TFS data is accurate in real time. You will coordinate with field teams, gather and enter data, and use analytical skills to review TFS data for accuracy and completeness.

Under supervision, you will review capital project prints, document changes in IPS, manage asset entries in IPS/Data Tracker, and support the asset lifecycle management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years of data/record management experience or an associate's degree in engineering technology or related fields.
• Proficient in MS Excel, Visio and Outlook and data entry.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform project print review at the beginning of a capital project to examine drawings and identify information about Transmission assets for commissioning.
• Review drawings with field changes and ensure documentation in IPS Asset Management database.
• Coordinate print management tasks, monitor DS Track, and follow up on overdue records.
• Support creation of location hierarchy, additions of new capital assets, and population of IPS asset attributes.
• Assist in managing asset entry lifecycle using Data Tracker and review IPS Audit Trail for accuracy.
• Develop skills to provide process support including field questions, problem diagnosis, and resolution.
• Assist in coordinating substation Capital Commissioning Checklists and contribute to checklist documentation.
• Update asset attributes for new capital assets, processing testing documentation, and updating asset statuses.

This involves coordinating with field teams with field teams and other personnel across Energy Delivery, gathering data, and entering data, as well as employing entry-level technical skill and experience to analyze TFS data for accuracy and completeness. This position is part of a team that ensures proper stewardship of TFS' critical data.Job DescriptionWhat You'll Do:With instruction and limited supervision, the Associate level in this job family may be requested to perform any of the following:With limited supervision and oversight, perform project print review at the beginning of a capital project to examine all relevant prints (one-lines, schematics, bills of material, equipment manufacturer drawings, etc.) in order to accurately identify and gather information about Transmission assets intended for commissioning on the project.Assist in reviewing drawings with field changes at the end of a capital project, to understand any changes that were made, and to ensure that they are correctly documented in our asset management database, IPS.Coordinate elements of print management as requested, such as by monitoring our print platform (DS Track) and following up on overdue records that have not been submitted.As requested, support creation of the location hierarchy, addition of new capital assets, and population of asset attributes into IPS, based on information found in technical drawings and project scopes.Support managing asset entry lifecycle using Data Tracker database.Review the assignment of Commissioning Actions in IPS to the newly created assets and make corrections/additions/deletions as needed.Review IPS Audit Trail of asset attributes for accuracy, and with direct supervision, resolve errors as necessary.Develop skills to be able to provide a specialized level of process support including response to questions from the field, problem diagnosis and research, troubleshooting, tracking and resolution.Assist in coordinating the configuration and release of the substation Capital Commissioning Checklists for specific jobs.Assist in the development of process improvements and documentation regarding the Capital Commissioning Checklist creation, and initial IPS data entry.Support asset-level management of IPS data by updating asset attributes for new capital assets, processing testing documentation, updating asset statuses after in-servicing, and other associated items as needed.With limited supervision, develop the skills to perform quality assurance of Transmission Field Services data by routine checks of accuracy of asset attribute data, correction of discrepancies, assistance with CICO requests (AEP’s proprietary Check-in Check-out app), and updating GPS and address information in IPS.Assist in the coordination of reporting and monitoring activities directly with field teams, such as by utilizing TFS' metric platform, PowerBI, to report on overdue settings, overdue commissioning actions, and others.What We're Looking For:Minimum high school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years of data/record management experience; or an associate's degree in electrical/Electronic/Civil/ Mechanical Engineering Technology or related fields.Proficient in MS Excel, Visio and Outlook and data entry.Excellent communication and organizational skills.OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Travel may be required.Where Putting the Customer First Powers Everything We DoAt AEP, we're more than just an energy company - we're a team of dedicated professionals committed to delivering safe, reliable, and innovative energy solutions.
