Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Michiana in Dyer, IN is seeking a Textile Sales Associate to help sort, price, tag, and stock donations. You will move items from drive-thru to sales floor, maintain flow in a fast-paced store, and report to Store Manager.

You will work with donation flow, follow retail practices, use tagging guns and pallet jacks, and meet performance standards on a dynamic schedule; compensation is $13 hourly.

Qualifications

• Adherence to standard retail practices and dress code.
• Familiarity with current clothing, shoe styles, furniture, toys, brand names, etc.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Ability to make quick and accurate decisions.
• Tactful communication with the public and co-workers.
• Flexibility to work varying schedules.
• Able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to utilize light industrial equipment including tagging gun, stickers, tags, standard office supplies.
• Pallet stacker and pallet jack usage.
• Operable compactor (must be 18).

Responsibilities

• Sort donated textiles, price, and tag at a minimum rate of 80 pieces per hour (PPH).
• Retrieve the Textile Production Sheet at the start of each shift and turn it in when finished.
• Transport carts containing items to be processed.
• Process donations promptly.
• Dispose of trash in designated receptacles as needed.
• Organize racks for efficient stocking.
• Pay levels may vary by state minimum wage regulations.

Job description

This position involves receiving, sorting, pricing, tagging, and stocking donations, keeping the flow of donations moving quickly from drive-thru to the sales floor, and generally aiding in the smooth operation of a fast-paced retail store. This position reports to the Store Manager and/or Production Manager, who evaluates performance annually.

Qualifications

• Able to frequently bend, twist, push, pull, reach above shoulder level, crouch or stoop, kneel, repetitively use feet, and use head and neck in a twisting or static motion and to look up and/or down, and lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to utilize light industrial equipment including:
• Tagging gun, stickers, tags, standard office supplies.
• Pallet stacker, pallet jack.
• Compactor; must be 18 to operate.

Responsibilities
