Job summary

Resurgent Industries is seeking a motivated Textile Engineer to join our Product Development team in Leander/Austin, TX. This entry-level role focuses on fiber and fabric innovation, including 100% cotton, blends, and technical yarns, with hands-on work in our lab and on the factory floor.

You will collaborate across functions to scale developments from concept to production, document results, and learn GMP/regulatory practices in a fast-paced manufacturing startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering or closely related field with recent-graduate status preferred.
• Strong foundation in fiber science, yarn spinning, weaving, and knitting processes.
• Familiarity with textile testing standards (ASTM, AATCC, ISO) and basic laboratory operation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic textile CAD/CAM or design tools.

Responsibilities

• Support fiber development initiatives including evaluation and testing of cotton fibers and blends.
• Assist in development of technical yarns for performance applications.
• Conduct yarn spinning trials and process optimization on ring, open-end, and air-jet systems.
• Design, prototype, and develop woven and knitted fabrics and iterate constructions to meet specs.
• Perform lab testing (tensile strength, abrasion, pilling, colorfastness) and analyze data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scale developments from lab to production.
• Document development work and prepare technical reports and presentations.
• Troubleshoot production issues related to fiber, yarn, or fabric performance and recommend fixes.
• Stay current with trends in sustainable cotton processing and digital textile design tools.
• Coordinate sample submissions and manage revisions through testing to bulk transition.
• Support compliance testing and documentation for regulatory and retailer requirements.
• Create and maintain detailed technical specifications and tech packs for fiber, yarn, and fabric.
