About the Team: The Writer team seeks to support the mission of BJU Press by researching and producing written manuscripts for instructional products that will be used by students and Christian educators from pre‑school to grade 12. Writers produce materials that are written from and teach a clear biblical worldview, are academically rigorous and pedagogically sound, that develop critical thinking skills as well as a lifelong love of learning. Materials produced by writers incorporate robust educational technology resources and provide training in 21st century skills.
As a Secondary Science Writer at BJU Press, the ideal candidate will play a supporting role on the Writer team by using knowledge gained through formal training, classroom experience, and research to plan and write educational materials for students and teachers. The writer will collaborate with other writers, instructional design specialists, biblical worldview specialists, educational technology specialists, designers, artists, production designers, editors, and permissions experts, to produce cutting‑edge textbooks and teacher support materials.
An applicant must be a born‑again Christian who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Each applicant must agree with and affirm the Bob Jones University creed, mission and core biblical doctrines. Employees are expected to maintain a conservative lifestyle and support the group’s positions on issues such as beverage alcohol and addictive substances, creation, marriage and human sexuality and the sanctity of life, and employees are to be active members of a local Bible‑believing church which holds orthodox theology.
