Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is seeking a resourceful Department Manager in the Textbook department to assist customers with locating course materials for rental or purchase while supporting store operations.

You will be a subject matter expert for textbooks, adapt to campus partnerships, and help increase adoptions, rentals, and digital sales while delivering outstanding customer service and daily results.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in retail management or as a buyer, or graduate of Best Seller Program.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
• Basic reading, writing and accounting skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Manage textbook cycle from setup to returns, with training and guidance.
• Use department technology to answer questions, manage adoptions and inventory.
• Support all store departments with daily operations and customer service.
• Greet customers on the sales floor and assist with purchases when needed.
• Maintain an appealing sales floor and assist with cash/credit transactions.
