Job summary

Inspected is a fast-growing, tech-enabled construction technology company focused on remote inspections and permitting in Texas. We are seeking an ICC-Certified Plan Reviewer to assess residential and commercial construction documents for compliance with adopted codes and local amendments.

The ideal candidate will review plans, specifications, calculations, and supporting materials, stay current on ICC updates, and deliver clear, code-referenced comments within deadlines.

Qualifications

• Current ICC Plan Examiner or Plan Reviewer certification applicable to the assigned discipline.
• At least three years of relevant experience in construction, design, inspection, engineering, architecture, code enforcement, or plan review.
• Working knowledge of applicable International Codes and referenced standards.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, calculations, product approvals, and engineering documents.
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to prepare clear, professional, code-referenced comments.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Proficiency with electronic plan-review systems, PDF-markup software, and standard office applications.

Responsibilities

• Review residential and/or commercial construction plans, specifications, engineering documents, and supporting materials.
• Determine compliance with applicable adopted building codes, referenced standards, Texas requirements, and local amendments.
• Perform reviews only within the disciplines authorized by the reviewer's active certifications, licenses, qualifications, and jurisdictional approvals.
• Evaluate applicable building, structural, accessibility, life-safety, energy, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or fire provisions within scope.
• Prepare clear, accurate, and code-referenced review comments identifying deficiencies and required corrections.
