Job summary

Inspected is seeking an experienced ICC-Certified Plan Reviewer to review residential and commercial construction documents in Texas. You will evaluate plans, specifications, calculations, and supporting materials for compliance with adopted codes, referenced standards, Texas requirements, and local amendments.

The ideal candidate is technically knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and able to prepare clear, code-referenced comments while meeting review deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Current ICC Plan Examiner or Plan Reviewer certification.
  • At least three years of relevant experience in construction, design, inspection, engineering, architecture, code enforcement, or plan review.
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to prepare clear, professional, code-referenced comments.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with electronic plan-review systems and PDF-markup software.

Responsibilities

  • Review residential and/or commercial construction plans, specifications, engineering documents, and supporting materials.
  • Determine compliance with applicable adopted building codes, referenced standards, Texas requirements, and local amendments.
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and code-referenced review comments identifying deficiencies and required corrections.
  • Review corrected plans and written responses to confirm deficiencies are resolved.
  • Maintain accurate electronic records of reviews, corrections, approvals, and related correspondence.
