Job summary

yamahaexternalcareersite is seeking an experienced engineer to perform hands-on boat testing and participate in concurrent engineering projects. You will work under the Testing Engineering Manager, follow detailed test procedures, and assist R&D staff with testing components and systems.

The role requires marine engineering familiarity, strong verbal and written communication, and the ability to present data in formal reports to multiple departments and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Requires a 4-year engineering degree with strong knowledge of engineering principles.
• Minimum 1-3 years marine engineering experience preferred.
• Hands-on testing experience preferred and ability to learn lab equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on boat testing under direction of Testing Engineering Manager.
• Follow test procedures and set up equipment per procedures.
• Test components and systems and assist R&D technicians.
• Communicate test results to suppliers and engineering teams.
• Report test data in formal reports and present data in meetings.

Job description

Qualifications:

• 4-year Degree in Engineering
• Thorough knowledge of engineering practices and principles
• Minimum of 1-3 Years marine engineering experience is preferred
• "Hands On" testing experience is preferred
• Ability to learn the use of laboratory and field-testing equipment
• Personal computer experience (Word, Excel, Scheduling, PowerPoint)
• Must have excellent verbal communication skills
• Must have excellent written skills with the ability to communication test data and results in formal report format to multiple companies
• Must be able to work within a team environment
• Project management and teamwork skills
• Ability to work on multiple projects

Duties:

• "Hands On" boat testing required
• Work on product design in a concurrent engineering environment under direction of Testing Engineering Manager
• Follow test procedures and equipment set up details
• Testing of components and systems as well as assisting R & D technicians in the testing of components and systems
• Communicate with suppliers on component test results
• Communicate with various departments on a global scale
• Communicate testing requirements to outside laboratories when necessary
• Write formal test reports in a timely manner and communicate to engineering team
• Prepare and present test data and results in formal meeting setting
