Job summary

A leading engineering company is seeking a Testing & Certification Engineer in New York to ensure compliance of electromechanical systems with international standards. Summary:

In this role, you will be responsible for testing electromechanical systems, verifying compliance with international safety and performance standards, and managing the product certification process for a range of industrial solutions. You will contribute to the development and launch of electrification and automation systems used in ports, airports, heavy industry, and transportation fields.

TheRole:

  • Testequipmentstoinvestigateperformancesofthedefinedrangeofproduct,whenrequired,accordingtoalongtermplan
  • Aligntheelectricalteamwiththemechanicalteamforaseamlessintegration
  • Definetheinstrumentationdiagrams,togetherwiththesoftwaredevelopers,mechanicalteamsandsuppliers
  • Design,develop,andexecutetestplansfornewandexistingproductsbothinternallyandatexternal(3rdparty)facilities
  • Collaboratewithdevelopmentandproductteamstounderstandrequirementsandensurecomprehensivetestcoverage
  • Analyzeandinterprettestresults,identifydeviations,andcollaboratewithdesignteamstoresolveissuesandoptimizeproductperformance.
  • Contributetoproductsqualification,validation(testing),andcertifications(Classapproval)activities
  • Supportengineeringandqualityteamsduringdesignreviews,FMEAsessions,androotcauseanalysisofnon-conformities
  • Ensureproductsmeetapplicableregulatoryrequirementsandstandards(e.g.,IEC,ISO,UL,CE,EMC,LVD,MachineryDirective)
  • Managecertificationprocesseswiththird-partylaboratoriesandnotifiedbodies,preparingandmaintainingallnecessarytechnicaldocumentation(e.g.,testreports,riskassessments,declarationsofconformity)
  • Defineandimplementtestprotocolsfortypetesting,designvalidation,andregressiontesting,bothmanualandautomated

Requirements:

  • Provenexperiencewithproducttestinginelectromechanical,electricalorindustrialsystems
  • Proficiencyinselectingsensorsandactuatorsbasedonprojectrequirementsandspecifications
  • Experiencewithprogrammingmotordrivesandsettingprogrammingparameters(ABB,Siemens,Vacon-Danfoss,Yaskawa)
  • Abilitytotroubleshootanddebugtechnicalissuesrelatedtosensors,actuators,andmotordrives
  • Handsonexperienceonlowvoltageswitchgearsandcontrolpanels.
  • Familiaritywithqualitysystems(e.g.,ISO9001,ISO14001)andCE/UKCAmarkingprocesses
  • KnowledgeofLVcontrolpanelsschematicsisrequired(LV/MVpowerswitchgearswouldbeaplus)
