Job summary

Ustechsolutions is looking for a candidate to join their laboratory team in Hickory, North Carolina. This role involves executing experiments related to optics, physics, and mechanics while collaborating with scientists and engineers.

The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving and organizational skills. Experience in laboratory testing or technical work with fiber optics is preferred. This full-time position operates from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Work Schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; Monday - Friday

Location: Work will take place in a lab/office setting within the plant facility.

Scope of Position: The scope of the position includes the execution of experiments related to optics, physics and mechanics. The candidate will also be involved with active research and development projects related to fiber optics, cable, connectors, and hardware.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in experimental execution.
• Work with a team of scientists, engineers, and technicians.
• Perform experimental and data collection.
• Vigorously test completed products, record activity and observations, and enter data/pictures into the computer.
• Work with testing equipment.
• Follow instructions and be inquisitive to ask for assistance when needed.
• Demonstrate confidence and independence to work without supervision to complete work and processes.
• Work well in a team environment.
• Work with microscopes.
