Job summary

HCLTech is seeking a dedicated Robot Wrangler Specialist to lead daily lab operations and robotics research. The role requires hands-on setup, maintenance, and precise data collection across hardware and software configurations, bridging engineering, research, and operations to produce reliable datasets.

The ideal candidate will work with ROS, Unity, Gazebo in simulations or remote environments, ensuring adherence to protocols and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

  • Technical degree or equivalent or a related field.
  • Proven hands-on experience in setting up, maintaining, and operating robotic systems, ideally in a research or lab environment.
  • Strong understanding of configuration management principles for both hardware and software systems.
  • Experience in data collection, cleaning, and labeling processes, particularly for machine learning or robotics datasets.
  • Familiarity with remote operation and/or simulation environments (e.g., ROS, Unity, Gazebo) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to effectively coordinate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow precise experimental protocols

Job description

1. Oversee daily robot setups and operations; monitoring, maintaining, and conducting of various lab experiments.

2. Collect/retrive/fill/label datasets related to the operations of the robot and its performance of various assigned tasks.

3. Maintaining both hardware and software configurations of the company’s robots and associated hardware.

4. Execute various manipulation tasks in a gaming simulation and remote control environment with an aim in collecting clean datasets.

5. Ensure robotic hardware and software configuration control.

6. Troubleshoot, report, and resolve any test results or issues relating to robotic hardware and software.

5. Create and refine the company's documentation and procedures.

6. Write code in the relevant language and ensure all robot setups operate to applicable company standards.

7. Should coordinate and assist researchers, engineers, managers, and other wranglers through various daily tasks and projects.

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law.
