Job summary

Arthrex is seeking a Test Technician II to support Production and Manufacturing Engineering by performing test and verification on complex medical devices throughout the manufacturing process. This hands-on role involves troubleshooting and ensuring products meet quality standards.

You will test CCU, SCU, ESU, and CH units, document results, and assist with audit readiness. A background in electronics testing and familiarity with SAP/Agile/Documentum is preferred, and the position is based on

  • 2 years of electrical testing experience or 2 years of related education required.
  • Demonstrated intermediate knowledge of electronics and electrical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Electrical testing of CCU, SCU, ESU, and CH units using FCO/FCL and tests.
  • Test electronics components, sub-assemblies, and completed systems per SOP.
  • Record test results in databases and review data to improve yields.
  • Comply with GDP in medical device environment.
  • Document test results in DHR and capture non-conformances.

Test Technician II - Medical Devices

Salary Minimum: $23.00/hr

Salary Maximum: $37.75/hr

We're looking for a Test Technician II to support our Production and Manufacturing Engineering teams by performing product and verification testing on complex medical devices throughout the manufacturing process. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on testing, troubleshooting, and ensuring products meet quality and performance standards. You'll have the opportunity to work with advanced medical technology while contributing to Arthrex's mission of Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Directly responsible for electrical testing of Camera Control Units (CCU), Shaver Console Units (SCU), Electro Surgical Units (ESU), and Camera Heads (CH) by performing FCO (Final Checkout), FCL (Final Check List), and other automated or manual electrical tests.
  • Test electronic components, sub-assemblies, and completed systems per test instructions and SOP.
  • Test products using computer programs, Digital Multi Meters, Oscilloscopes, light measurement equipment, waveform monitors, and other digital and analog electrical test equipment.
  • Record test results into database applications. Review numerical and graphical data and make recommendations to improve process yields.
  • Responsible for complying with medical device industry standards in Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Accurate document test results in Device History Records (DHR). Capturing test non-conformances per Quality requirements.
  • Responsible for accessing and following packaging and test work instructions from PLM and Document management systems based on product structure requirements.
  • Perform a visual inspection of the product to ensure consistency of design specifications and meet functional criteria while using work instructions, Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) systems, drawings, forms, and inspection criteria as references.
  • Manage tasks related to multiple production duties; prioritize and respond to special assigned duties.
  • Participate in required company training activities related to products and processes supporting medical device manufacturing.
  • May perform Preventive Maintenance of equipment within the department as required by PM Schedule.
  • Performs daily cleaning of the work area and initiates "Area Clearance" to maintain material traceability at the workstation.
  • Support the department with internal/external audits.
  • Maintain and follow electrostatic discharge (ESD) work environment procedures.
  • Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
  • Intermediate knowledge, understanding, and application of industry practices. Occasionally contributes to the development of new techniques and standards.
  • Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Refers to policies and practices for guidance.
  • Work is performed under general direction. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.
  • Must Competent in MS Office Suite.
Skills and Abilities
  • Is required to be competent with (Excel, Teams, Outlook).
  • Intermediate visual inspection, part handling, component assembly, and barcode scanning are required.
  • Intermediate ability to test and troubleshoot products.
  • Navigates SAP, Agile, and Documentum systems independently.
  • Solving simple math equations and the ability to perform tasks through verbal communication.
  • Intermediate ability to conduct training regarding existing procedures.
  • Adopt an environment of continuous improvement to develop more robust procedures and improvements within existing processes to produce cost-effective quality products.
  • Intermediate manual dexterity.

Education/Experience
  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 2 years of work experience in electrical testing is required or 2 years of accredited or trade school education in an electrical engineering-related field is required.
  • Demonstrated intermediate knowledge of electronics and electrical troubleshooting required.
