Job summary

Benchmark Electronics is seeking a Test Technician to support and debug test processes in manufacturing. The role involves performing debug/test assemblies, maintaining testers, and assisting in root cause analysis to improve product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Performs debug and test assemblies to component level using diagrams and schematics.
  • Maintains testers and equipment.
  • Collaborates with leadership to troubleshoot operator issues and drive improvements.
  • Trains and supports Test operators.
  • Reports problems to Test Engineer or leader.
  • Supports failure analysis and root cause investigations.
  • Identifies equipment needs with leadership.
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
  • Follows security policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Works on problems of moderate scope with data-driven judgment.

Job description

Summary

The Test Technician provides support and debug for test processes in manufacturing.

Responsibilities
  • Performs debug and test assemblies to component level, as able, utilizing block diagrams and schematics
  • Performs tester maintenance and upkeep
  • Works with leadership on troubleshooting operator problems, providing training and process improvements
  • Provides training and ongoing support to the Test operators
  • Communicates problems to Test Engineer and/or leader
  • Assists in performing experiments for failure analysis and root cause analysis
  • Recommends additional equipment needs to leadership and/or Test Engineers for the product debug areas
  • Participates in Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen continuous improvement activities
  • Complies and follows all company security policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors, exercising judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action and building productive internal/external working relationships
  • Developing professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues
  • Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience; Ability to effectively train diverse groups; Good analytical skills; Ability to assimilate a wide range of data and form conclusions

  • Basic understanding of Test Measurement and Debug Techniques
  • Ability to support a 24/7 global business operation as required
  • Proficient in reading electrical schematics

Location & Schedule

Geographical Location: Minnesota – Winona. Physical Location: Winona, MN – East. Shift 1. Work Schedule: M-Th 0530-1600. Full Time.

Benchmark considers this a safety-sensitive position. This position is classified as safety-sensitive because impairment while performing job duties could pose a significant risk of harm. Benchmark will conduct a pre-employment drug screen, which may include testing for THC, and maintains a drug- and alcohol-free workplace with testing procedures in accordance with applicable law.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation Range: $24.26 to $36.40 USD. Benefits include Bonus Plan, 401(k), Paid Time Off, and Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance, based on scheduled hours.
