Job summary

Mercury Systems in Oxnard, CA is seeking an RF Test Technician to ensure production quality of mission critical microwave components. You will perform set ups, calibration, testing, tuning and troubleshooting of circuits and assemblies to spec.

Responsibilities include launching and testing circuits in fixtures, biasing devices, tuning amplifiers from 10 MHz to 18 GHz, and maintaining RF test equipment with attention to ESD and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Currently an active US military member eligible for SkillBridge.
• 3+ years experience testing and tuning electronic devices.
• Familiar with computers (Microsoft Office Suite).
• Ability to clearly communicate in written and spoken English.
• US citizen holding, or eligible to obtain, a DoD secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Launch and test circuits in fixtures to specifications.
• Biasing FETs (Field Effect Transistor) and/or transistors.
• Test and tune standard catalog amplifiers from 10MHz to 18GHz.
• Participate in continuous improvement and team building activities.
• Apply RF fundamentals including RF Gain, Gain Flatness, Gain Matching, Return Loss, P1dB, Compression, phase/phase tracking.
• Proficiency in RF theory and principals.
• Test for gain, gain flatness, noise figure, VSWR, P1dB, IP3 and phase.
• Calibration of test equipment.
• Tuning and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in operating test equipment like DC power supplies, RF signal generators, scalar and network analyzers.
• Understanding DC theory (Ohm's Law).
• Following ESD procedures.

Job description

In this role:

You will perform a variety of non-routine tasks to ensure production quality standards are met. Performs set-ups, calibration, testing, tuning and troubleshooting of micro-strip circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies, to ensure unit functions according to specifications.

Technicians perform very detailed technician functions associated with back-end manufacturing to produce mission critical products and devices. Attention to detail, excellent hand-eye coordination and excellent hand dexterity is essential to operate tools and equipment to perform functions such as testing, tuning, troubleshooting and repairing millimeter and microwave frequency components.

You are responsible for:

• Launching and testing circuits in fixtures to specifications
