Job summary

Loft Orbital is seeking a hands-on Test Technician to work with Test Engineers to inspect and test spacecraft hardware, including wire harnesses and avionics boxes. You will perform functional tests (Python preferred) and environmental testing (vibration, TVAC, EMI/EMC) and help optimize test processes to scale activities for growing demand.

Strong communication, ability to read engineering drawings and 3D models, and meticulous attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and 3D models.
• Coding experience required; Python preferred.
• Experience with Vibration, Thermal Vacuum (TVAC), and/or EMC/EMI testing.
• Detail-oriented with ownership of work.

Job description

Wanna join the adventure? You will be the hands-on support, working with our Test Engineers to inspect and test spacecraft hardware and associated equipment (e.g., wire harnesses, avionics boxes, sub-assemblies). As a Test Technician, you will execute functional (Python experience preferred) and environmental testing (vibration, thermal, TVAC, EMI/EMC) and optimize design, build, and test processes to help Loft effectively scale test activities to meet emerging and contractual demand. This role offers the opportunity to deepen your technical expertise in testing complex aerospace hardware while working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Must Haves:

• Strong communication skills (both written and oral)
• Ability to interpret & work from engineering drawings & 3D models.
• Solid computer skills and familiarity with controlled designs and processes.
  • Coding/Programming experience of some type is required; Python is preferred.
• Previous experience with Vibration, Thermal Vacuum (TVAC), and/or EMC/EMI testing.
• Meticulously detail-oriented with pride in ownership of work performed.

Nice to Haves:

• RF products/tools/test experience (Vector Network Analyzers)
• Experience with optical payloads (cameras) or other optics testing
• Experience with test standards (GEVS, CEQATR, Mil-Std-1540, CETS/CTP)
• Certified forklift and/or crane operator

$68,000 - $95,000 a year

State law requires us to tell you the base compensation range for this role, which is $68,000 - $95,000 per year, determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The salary range for this role is intentionally wide as we evaluate individuals based on their unique experience and abilities to fit our needs.
