Job Description

Mentors will assist students one‑on‑one in preparing for college by readying them for the ACT and SAT exams and potentially other academic subjects, as well.

We call our tutors Academic Mentors because we prioritize the holistic development of each of our students. All applicants should be passionate about working with youth and should have previous experience tutoring, teaching and/or coaching.

Job Requirements

• Prior experience teaching ACT/SAT. A past score or a score from a diagnostic test taken during the application process may be required
• Must be able to tutor in person in one of our markets or virtually 2 to 3 times a week
• Additional expertise in tutoring multiple high school subjects
• Available part‑time. Tutoring usually occurs on weekday evenings (after 3 pm) and/or on weekends. Typical work schedule is Sunday‑Thursday. Although the majority of the work is online, you must be available for in‑person tutoring in students' homes
• Available to tutor through a full school year or longer
• Reliable internet access
• wage: $60‑$70/hr (academic tutoring in high school subjects starts at $60/hr while test prep tutoring starts at $70/hr)
