Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Test Technician I to join our Memphis, TN site. You will perform testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic assemblies to ensure quality and performance standards are met.

This role operates within a manufacturing environment, contributing to reliable production of advanced technology solutions. Candidates should have 1–3 years of electronics testing experience, strong schematics reading skills, and the ability to document results and collaborate with engineering

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree/technical training preferred in electronics.
• 1-3 years of electronics testing, troubleshooting, and repair experience.
• Experience reading schematics and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Execute defined test procedures on electronic components, sub-assemblies, and products using test equipment.
• Document test results, including pass/fail, measurements, and observations.
• Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot failures down to component level using schematics and diagnostics.
• Perform rework and repair on failed units per procedures and quality standards.
• Collaborate with engineering/production to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Assist in calibration and maintenance of test equipment to ensure accuracy.

Job Profile: Test Technician I

Location/ Division Specific Information: Memphis, TN or Grantsville, UT

How will you make an impact?

As a Test Technician at Jabil, Inc., you will be responsible for performing a variety of technical duties related to testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic assemblies and products to ensure they meet quality and performance standards. You will work within a manufacturing environment, contributing to the efficient and reliable production of our advanced technology solutions.

What will you do?

• Execute defined test procedures and methodologies on electronic components, sub-assemblies, and finished products using specialized test equipment.
• Document test results accurately and completely, including pass/fail status, measurements, and observations.
• Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot failures or defects in electronic circuits and systems down to the component level using schematics, diagrams, and diagnostic tools.
• Perform rework and repair activities on failed units in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify root causes of failures and implement corrective actions.
• Assist in the calibration and maintenance of test equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of test processes and procedures.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.

How will you get here?

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree, technical certification, or formal technical training preferred in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Experience:

1-3 years of experience in electronics testing, troubleshooting, and repair, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Must be able to obtain and maintain all required job-related certifications.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.

Strong understanding of electronic components, circuits, and test methodologies.

Experience with common test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and function generators.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a meticulous attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production setting.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical certifications in electrical testing, industrial controls, automation, or electronics troubleshooting.
• Experience performing high-voltage electrical testing, including 480VAC, 120VAC, and 24VDC control systems.
• Hands-on experience with Hipot (dielectric withstand) testing, insulation resistance testing, and electrical safety validation.
• Knowledge of pressure, leak, vacuum, and pneumatic testing methods in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience troubleshooting complex electrical, electromechanical, and test equipment failures.
