Job summary

Kearfott Corporation in Pine Brook, NJ is seeking a Test Engineering Co-Op to join the Sensor Evaluation and Production Engineering Test team. The selected candidate will work with engineers and operators to enhance skills and product/process knowledge.

Responsibilities include coordinating assembly, developing test procedures, interpreting data, improving testing processes, and supporting reports. Must be a U.S. citizen and available full-time during the 2027 Spring Semester.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• Knowledgeable in software programming, CAD, analog/digital design, lasers, optics, guidance & control, systems analysis or systems integration.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and show initiative in problem solving.
• Must be able to work full-time (40 hours per week) during the 2027 Spring Semester (January 2027 - May 2027).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate assembly and testing activities.
• Develop, revise and apply test manufacturing instructions and procedures.
• Interpret test and measurement data.
• Improve testing processes and tooling.
• Review technical data, assess performance, identify problems and plan corrective actions.
• Work with engineering teams to understand and evaluate test results.

• Support reports and briefings describing analyses.

Kearfott Corporation is looking for a Test Engineering CO-OP participant to join our team in Pine Brook, NJ. The qualified candidate will be part of the Kearfott Sensor Evaluation and Production Engineering Test team. The selected candidate will work in a dynamic environment where they will work directly with experienced Engineers and operators to enhance their skills and develop a higher level of product/process knowledge.

• The Engineering Co-Op participant will: 1) help in the coordination of assembly and testing; 2) develop, revise, and employ test manufacturing instructions and procedures; 3) interpret test and measurement data; and 4) improve testing processes and tooling.
• Other responsibilities may include: review of technical data, performance assessment, problem identification, corrective action planning, and implementation.
• Work with engineering teams to understand and evaluate test results.
• Develop graphics displaying the results of analyses.
• Support reports and briefings describing the results and significance of analyses performed.

Required Skills:

• Demonstrated creative problem-solving skills.
• GPA of 3.2 or above
• Experience in Microsoft Office software
• Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills.

Preferred: Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW

Required Experience:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university degree program pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in: Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, ElectricalEngineering, Physics, or other similar engineering or scientific majors.
• Knowledgeable in some of the following areas: software programming, computer-aided design, analog/digital design, lasers, free-space or fiber optics, guidance & control, systems analysis, or systems integration.
• Have coursework, interest, motivation, and experience that provide the foundation to develop expertise in one or more of the above engineering specialties.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
• General knowledge and understanding of mathematical modeling and analysis methods.
• Must be able to work full-time (40 hours per week) during the 2027 Spring Semester (January 2027 - May 2027).
• Must be a U.S. citizen.

The salary range is $20.00 - $30.00/hour. Final compensation amount will be determined based on factors such as experience level, skill set, school year, major, etc.
