Job summary

GeoControl Systems, Inc. is seeking a Test Engineer to join the team at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. The role focuses on providing test engineering services for product development and certification across spaceflight projects, ensuring health and safety requirements are met.

You will design tests, fixtures, and procedures, conduct test readiness reviews, operate hardware during tests, and write detailed test reports. Collaboration with project teams and customers is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science is required.
  • At least 5 years of related experience are required.
  • Experience with JSC projects and test facilities is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop test strategies, plans and procedures from project requirements.
  • Coordinate with service providers and schedule test facilities.
  • Perform functional, development, certification, acceptance, and integration testing.
  • Analyze test data and write test reports.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Provide hardware support during integrated hardware/software testing.

What You’ll Do:

In this role, you play a role in providingtest engineering services for product development and certification efforts insupport of various space flight projects for human health related systems asNASA continues to evolve systems for exploration missions including Moon Baseand Artemis missions. It is expected that this position will support a largerproject team and will receive task direction from a more senior project/testengineer or project manager. This position will support the design life cycleof the project. It is expected that this function understands testingrequirements from the project and develop test plans to meet thoserequirements. This position will support the team by designing tests, testfixtures, writing test plans and procedures, conducting Test Readiness Reviews,operating hardware during tests, collecting and deciphering data, and writingtest reports. Awareness of the Flight Hardware Development processing asoutlined in SA-WI-014 and EA-023 is considered a strength with the expectationthat the candidate will become well versed as the solutions are developed.

You will:
  • Maintain Safety records andcertifications.
  • Use project requirementdocuments and verification documents to develop test strategies/planningand produce test plans, test set-ups and procedures.
  • Coordinate with serviceproviders including scheduling test facilities as required.
  • Collaborate with projectmanagement, customers, and other stakeholders to establish test schedules,coordinate, and execute development and certification testing events.
  • Complete functional,development, certification, acceptance, and integration testing of thehardware during the different stages of the project life cycles.
  • Correlate test results andcomplete data analysis as required in a test report format.
  • Provide hardware support andtechnical knowledge during integrated hardware/software testing.
  • Process hardware at labsand Johnson Space Center Test Facilities
  • Read, understand, and interpretengineering drawings.
  • Work closely with the customerand project team members
  • Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring:

You bring experience leading product testingas a vital part of the Flight Hardware development team. You use yourexperience and judgment to control activity within your test area. You complywith KBR’s Safety, Health and Environmental Plan, Quality Plan, and all safetypolicies and procedures, and complete all assigned training.

Your Qualifications:
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree from anaccredited college or university in engineering or science and at least 5years of related experience.
Desired:
  • Experiencewith JSC projects and test facilities
  • Experiencewith testing in a Lab
  • Experiencewith pressure systems
  • At least 2 years in flight hardwaredevelopment
