Job summary

MACOM in Morgan Hill, CA, is seeking a Sr. Test Engineer to design and implement automated RF test systems for MACOM products. You will calibrate, debug, and optimize test stations, and analyze results to ensure device performance and quality.

You’ll partner with product engineering, yield engineering, and R&D to support new product introductions and maintain first-pass qualification. The role requires a BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or Physics and at least five years of RF testing experience,

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience across RF devices, testing, test planning and test-station development.
• Experience designing automated test systems for hardware.
• Strong documentation to track and root cause non-conforming hardware.

Sr. Test Engineer

Job Description:

• DevelopAutomated Test system(s) to be used for MACOM products.
• PerformCalibration, debug test systems, test and troubleshoot RF devices / modulesusing automated / manual test stations and implementing the requiredsolutions
• Analyze test dataand write formal reports on findings
• Document new testprocedures as required.
• Partnerwith product engineering, yield engineering, and R&D to ensureeffective new product introductions as well as consistent deviceperformance and quality.
• Participatein strategic planning including RF test tool selection and test development.
• Driveinnovation, sustain and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, dynamicenvironment.
• Drivecontinuous improvement efforts through the matrixed team to maximizeproduct quality, minimize manufacturing cycle time, and ensure first passqualification success for each program
• Supportand train test technicians how to perform various written test procedures.

Technical Background:

• Strongknowledge of common RF components such as splitters, attenuators, amplifiers and frequency converters and their general RF performancecharacteristics.
• Solidtheoretical understanding of RF test and measurement principles.
• Working knowledge ofapplied statistics (SPC/DOE) and structured problem-solving methods suchas 8D, and 5 whys.
• Experiencewith database queries and statistical data analysis using softwarepackages such as JMP
• Self-starterwith a strong sense of ownership, capable of driving tasks with minimalsupervision (but recognizing when to seek help), desire to learn, andthrives in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment
• Able to analyze parametricdata and make sense of what it represents in the real world
• Basic software experience(writing, editing, debugging scripts, Phython, LabView, C, C++ etc.)

Qualifications:

• BS/MSin Electrical Engineering, Physics or equivalent
• Minimum5 years of experience across all aspects of RF devices, testing, testplanning and developing test stations.
• Stronginterpersonal, communication skills and teamwork.
• Previousexperience with designing automated test systems for various types ofhardware.
• Strongdocumentation skills to track and root cause non-conforming hardware.

The Salary Range for this position is $70,000 – $140,000. Actual salary offered to candidate will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, work location, relevant candidates’ experience, education, and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.

This position is eligible to receive restricted stock unit (RSU) awards and cash bonuses, solely at MACOM’s discretion, subject to individual and company performance.
