Job summary

Excellus BCBS is seeking a Test Engineer to collaborate with Project Management, Application Development and leadership. You will plan and execute testing for systems and applications, ensuring quality work items are delivered on schedule.

The role involves creating test plans, developing test cases, executing tests (manual and automated where appropriate), and communicating results to agile teams. Opportunities for growth and involvement across multiple product families may arise.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
• Three years of related work experience.
• Experience with testing at various levels (functional, integration, system, load, and performance).
• Experience working with iterative, waterfall, and agile methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience in executing/administering test automation.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains domain expertise to assist with testing scope and plan for projects.
• Analyzes requirements to build test cases and data.
• Conducts test case reviews with agile team for proper coverage.
• Documents and executes manual and automated test cases per plan.
• Interprets and communicates test results to teams and management.
• Creates defects with detailed reproduction steps and environment info.
• Monitors defects and assists with triage.
