Job summary

North Point Technology is seeking a Test Engineer to join a cross-functional Agile Scrum team supporting an Intelligence Community program that builds geospatial intelligence capabilities for national security missions.

You will design and execute manual and automated tests, integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines, validate performance and security, and collaborate with software engineers, product managers, systems engineers, and Scrum Masters to ensure quality releases.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and executing test strategies in Agile environments.
• Ability to design manual and automated test plans and maintain test cases.
• Proficient with Cypress, Playwright, Postman or REST Assured for API and UI testing.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps) and defect tracking (Jira).
• Bachelor's or higher in CS/Engineering/IT with DoD/IC program exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead test strategy across multiple sprints and maintain test cases.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, and mission experts to define acceptance criteria.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and analyze results.
• Identify defects and drive resolution while supporting process improvement.

Job description

North Point Technology is looking to hire a Test Engineer to join a program supporting an Intelligence Community customer building geospatial intelligence capabilities that enable critical national security missions. Working within a cross-functional Agile Scrum team alongside software engineers, product managers, and mission experts, this role is central to ensuring the delivery of reliable, secure, and high-performing software. An active Top Secret/SCI clearance with the ability to successfully pass a Polygraph examination is required.

Responsibilities:

The Test Engineer will lead the planning, design, development, and execution of comprehensive test strategies across multiple Agile sprints, designing and maintaining both automated and manual test cases for new and existing capabilities. This role involves daily collaboration with software engineers, product managers, systems engineers, and Scrum Masters to define acceptance criteria and ensure quality is built into every release. The engineer will perform functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing; validate application performance, reliability, security, and usability; and identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects through resolution. Additional responsibilities include integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipeline deployment workflows, analyzing test results, communicating risks, and contributing to continuous process improvement initiatives that enhance Agile team effectiveness.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Agile software development program support, including participation in Scrum team workflows
• Creation and execution of manual and automated test plans
• Automated testing tools such as Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent
• API testing using tools such as Postman or REST Assured
• CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms
• Defect management using tools such as Jira

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Experience supporting DoD or Intelligence Community programs
• Scripting in JavaScript or Python
• Containerized application environments using Docker and Kubernetes
• Performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner
• Cloud technologies including AWS, Azure, or OpenShift
• DevSecOps pipelines and automated quality assurance practices
• Geospatial applications or GEOINT data

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field; or Master's degree in a related field
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with the ability to successfully pass a Polygraph examination
• US citizenship required per contract
• Certifications such as ISTQB, CASTP, CAST, CSTE, or Security+ preferred
