Job summary

The Lee Company in Connecticut is seeking a Test Engineer to design, build, and improve laboratory test systems and fixtures. This hands-on role blends mechanical design, fabrication, automation, and testing to support engineering development and innovation.

You will work with sensors, DAQ, and motion control, develop new test solutions, document results, and help maintain lab infrastructure. A strong mechanical aptitude and CAD experience, especially SolidWorks, are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate's or higher in engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in a lab, R&D, testing, automation, or related environment.
• Experience designing/building custom fixtures, equipment, or test systems.
• CAD proficiency with SolidWorks preferred.
• Experience with instrumentation, sensors, and DAQ systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on fabrication and troubleshooting.
• Ability to independently source and procure components.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, modify, and validate custom test fixtures and laboratory equipment.
• Select and integrate sensors, actuators, and control hardware; configure DAQ systems.
• Develop motion control and electro-mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot test equipment, instrumentation, and laboratory systems; document results.
• Maintain laboratory infrastructure and suggest improvements.
