Job summary

Allied OneSource is seeking a Test Engineer II – Electrical Controls to validate HVAC control systems in commercial environments. You will test embedded firmware, electrical controls, and HVAC features, collaborating with product teams to improve testing processes and contribute to future automation initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5+ years HVAC controls or embedded systems experience, or a technical diploma with 10+ years relevant HVAC controls experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC controls, embedded system testing, or building automation systems; experience with BACnet, Modbus, MQTT, or similar protocols is a plus.
  • Experience executing functional, integration, regression, or system-level testing with troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and maintain manual test plans and procedures for embedded firmware, electrical controls, user interfaces, and HVAC system functionality.
  • Validate product performance by performing functional, integration, system, and communication protocol testing while identifying, documenting, and resolving defects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support new product development, design reviews, product validation, and continuous quality improvements.
  • Mentor junior engineers, contribute to improving testing processes, and help build the foundation for future test automation initiatives.
