Job summary

Visual Comfort & Co. is seeking a tester/engineer to qualify LED drivers, modules, fixtures and control modules, developing tests and documenting results. You will analyze test data, support QA and product development, and ensure compliance with internal and UL standards.

The role requires a degree in electrical engineering, 3+ years of testing experience, and proficiency with oscilloscope, power analyzers, and data acquisition systems. This onsite position offers strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is required.
• 3+ years of experience in electrical testing or related field.

• Ability to read schematics and understand circuit designs.
• Knowledge of lighting, LED lighting is preferred.

Responsible for identifying functional problems and suggests resolutions. Documents and analyzes test cases and provide regular progress reports. Ensures testing procedures are in compliance with internal and UL standards.

How Success is defined:

• Develop test plans and test specifications
• Develop test equipment and setups according to the test plan
• Test LED drivers, LED modules, LED fixtures and control modules in support of new product development and VAVE projects
• Qualify LED drivers, LED modules and LED fixtures by conducting performance and reliability testing
• Provide technical support to Technical Service and Quality teams
• Manage testing documentation, including test requests and test reports
• Provide technical oversight for the lab technicians that perform electrical testing
• Work effectively with others in a team environment to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems

What you will bring:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
• 3+ years of experience in electrical testing or a related field
• Proficiently use test equipment, including oscilloscope, power analyzers/meters, electronic loads, DMMs and Data acquisition systems
• Ability to understand electric circuit designs, schematics and components specifications
• Knowledge of switching mode power supplies is preferred
• Knowledge of lighting, especially LED lighting, is preferred
• Experience with basic circuit design, Arduino or Raspberry Pi development board is preferred
• Self-motivated, able to achieve goals and objectives without supervision
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a strong attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and changing priorities
• Ability to achieve results both independently and through others by fostering a spirit of teamwork and cooperation
• Demonstrate exceptional communication across all contact channels, including email, chat and phone

Compensation Range: $74,000 - $79,000

Compensation is based on individual factors, including skill set, relevant experience, and work location
