Blue Origin is seeking a Test Engineer I to join the AI&T team on the Terawave program. This entry-level role supports verification and functional testing on the Vehicle Test Bench (VTB), Flatsat, and HIL environment under mentor guidance.

You will build hands-on spacecraft test experience, contribute to test infrastructure, and learn bench operation, GSE, and data interpretation from senior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, electrical, systems, or mechanical engineering.
• 0–2 years in hardware test or related hands-on role.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures accurately.
• Familiarity with basic electronic test equipment.
• Strong data recording and communication skills.

Responsibilities

This multi-orbit constellation will consist of optically interconnected satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO) and medium Earth orbit (MEO), providing enterprise‑grade connectivity for critical operations worldwide.

Blue Origin is seeking a Test Engineer I to join the AI&T team on the Terawave program. In this entry‑level role you will support the execution of verification and functional test activities on the Vehicle Test Bench (VTB), Flatsat, and HIL environment under the guidance of senior engineers. You will build hands‑on spacecraft test experience while contributing to the team building the test infrastructure that enables high‑rate satellite production.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Execute test procedures on the VTB and HIL bench under the supervision of senior test engineers; record results accurately and completely.
• Assist with bench configuration and GSE setup for test campaigns; perform pre‑test and post‑test equipment checks.
• Document test anomalies clearly and completely; elevate off‑nominal observations to senior engineers promptly.
• Support procedure red‑line mark‑up incorporation and documentation updates following test execution.
• Maintain ESD compliance, bench cleanliness, FOD prevention discipline, and configuration accountability.
• Support test readiness gate preparations: hardware inventories, configuration verification, and test setup checklists.
• Assist in setting up and tearing down test configurations; support hardware installation and removal per work instructions.
• Participate in test briefings, anomaly reviews, and lessons‑learned sessions.
• Learn and develop competency in bench operation, GSE use, and data interpretation under mentorship of senior engineers.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in hardware test, systems integration, laboratory electronics, or a related hands‑on technical role; relevant internship or co‑op experience accepted.
• Demonstrated ability to follow detailed technical procedures carefully and completely.
• Basic familiarity with electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, or similar).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate data recording.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to document observations clearly.

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship or project experience with spacecraft, satellite, or complex electronic systems test.
• Exposure to hardware‑in‑the‑loop or simulation‑based test environments.
• Basic Python or scripting experience; interest in test automation.
• Familiarity with data bus protocols (CAN, SpaceWire, RS‑422) from coursework or lab experience.
• Background with ESD‑sensitive electronics handling.
• Academic or project experience with embedded systems, avionics, or spacecraft subsystems.

Base Pay Range for:

CO applicants is $74,537.00 - $104,351.10 WA applicants is $81,313.00 - $113,837.85
