Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an entry‑level test engineer to join our team near Seattle, WA. You will help design, analyze, and operate test systems for propulsion, mechanical, and electronic subsystems, collaborating across safety, manufacturing, and operations to ensure safe, repeatable tests.

Ideal candidates have a recent engineering degree and hands‑on testing experience, with an ability to work independently or with teams on fast‑paced development programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in mechanical, aerospace, electrical engineering or similar.
  • Recent graduate within the last year and available to start Fall 2026.
  • Experience in a testing environment and performing test procedures.
  • Internship/co-op or hands‑on experience demonstrating technical skills and leadership.
  • Ability to build trust and collaborate in an inclusive culture.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team on rapid development programs.
  • Flexible and self-driven with initiative to identify requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and operate test systems for fluid, propulsion, mechanical, and electronic components.
  • Coordinate with safety, manufacturing, operations, materials, instrumentation, and controls teams in testing.
  • Analyze test data to support verification requirements.
  • Direct hardware integration into test facilities.
  • Plan tests, assess risks, set up tests, and review post-test data.
  • Develop test support software and equipment to improve frequency and quality.
  • Identify and resolve test-related problems.

Responsibilities
  • Aspects of applied test engineering including the design, analysis, and operation of test systems for testing fluid, propulsion, mechanical and electronic systems.
  • Projects will include the integration of safety, manufacturing, operations, materials and processes, instrumentation, test control systems, and systems engineering.
  • Analyzing test data to support requirements verification tasks.
  • Directing integration of hardware into our test facilities.
  • Conducting test planning, risk assessments, evaluation, and mitigations, test set up, execution, post-test data review, and performance analysis.
  • Developing test support software and equipment to improve test frequency and quality.
  • Identifying, scoping, and resolving test-related problems.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or similar discipline.
  • Will have earned their degree within the last year and able to start by Fall 2026.
  • Experience with a testing environment and executing test procedures.
  • Relevant internship/co‑op and/or hands‑on experience that demonstrate development of both technical skills as well as leadership qualities.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs.
  • Flexible and adaptable mindset.
  • Self‑driven with the ability to seek out requirements with minimal direction.
Desired
  • Advanced degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering or similar discipline.
  • Familiar with the following software: LabVIEW, AutoCAD P&ID, Winplot, Windchill, Creo
  • Experience with hazard and risk analysis.

Base Pay Range for: WA applicants is $81,313.00 - $113,837.85 Other site ranges may differ
