Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group is seeking a Test Engineer with 5+ years of experience to support exterior performance verification activities. The role involves applying engineering principles and diverse analysis tools to develop test plans, run moderately complex tests, and summarize results to ensure parts meet acceptance criteria and standards.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in ME/EE with relevant experience substituted for degree.

• Experience creating data settings, test specs, schedules and setups; documenting results.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geometrical analysis of 3D data to assess sub system layout against standards.
• Interpret FEA/CFD results to judge achievement of established criteria.
• Use measurement equipment and data acquisition software to measure and assess marketability phenomena.
• Document and present engineering test results clearly; recommend countermeasures based on testing.

• Test Engineer with over 5 years of test engineering experience in required test and confirmation per area of specialty.
• Applies engineering principles, experiences and various analysis tools to develop test plans/procedures to test design parts/components in area of specialty to determine design feasibility and ensure parts/components meet design acceptance criteria, performance level targets and any applicable regulatory/internal standards.
• Creates data settings, test specifications/standards and test schedule, prepares/setups test equipment, conducts moderately complex tests and documents/summarizes test results/conclusions, verifying testing accuracy/thoroughness and determining if additional testing is needed.
• Analyzes/interprets test results, predicting performance/failure and providing required product/design data, identifying issues/developing countermeasures, communicating test results clearly in written reports/formal presentations and proposing design changes and recommending countermeasures based on analysis of testing results.
• This Test Engineer will support the Exterior Performance Department full vehicle verification of exterior systems (i.e. Hood, Door, Tailgate) to meet customer marketability expectation.

Typical Daily Responsibilities Will Include

• Conduct geometrical analysis of already generated 3D Data in Catia V5/V6 to assess sub system layout criteria to an established standard. Ability to apply engineering principals to create new geometry in Catia V5/V6 to satisfy standard is preferred.
• Interpret FEA/CFD results to formulate engineering judgement of achievement to established standard.
• Utilize measurement equipment (i.e. Microphones, Accelerometers, Digital Image correlation, etc...) in data acquisition software (i.e. National Instruments Lab View, Siemens SimCenter Test Lab) to measure and assess marketability phenomenon to an established standard.
• Clearly document and effectively present prepared engineering 3D Analysis, Simulated, and/or measured test result.
