Job summary

Snap Inc. seeks a Test Engineer for the Spectacles team to design and calibrate testing methods for cameras and optical sensors. You will work with manufacturing partners to bring up testers and analyze GR&R data, while debugging test software and firmware releases.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in optics, physics, electrical, mechanical engineering or CS and 3+ years of testing consumer camera sensors, with international travel of about 15%.

Qualifications

  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, and/or C/C++.
  • Strong data analysis and visualization skills using tools such as JMP, Python, or MATLAB.
  • Strong understanding of testing methodologies and standards for cameras and fundamental understanding of optical sensing technologies.
  • Knowledge of standard quality methodologies such as GR&R and SPC.

Responsibilities

  • Drive test station manufacturing with third-party vendors.
  • Support tester bring up in collaboration with our manufacturing partners, write and maintain tester documentation, and review GR&R data.

We're looking for a Test Engineer to join the Spectacles team!

What you'll do:
  • Define test and calibration methods for cameras and other optical sensors including algorithm development and test station hardware definition.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, and/or C/C++.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in optics, physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in testing of cameras or optical sensors for consumer electronics.
  • Ability to travel internationally 15% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PhD or master's degree in optics, physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or related field.
  • Experience developing and maintaining factory test and calibration stations for high-volume manufacturing.
  • Experience with camera calibration and test techniques for computer vision, sensor fusion, active and passive depth sensing, and/or biometric sensing.
  • Experience with robotics or instrument control automation.
