Job summary

Choice Hotels International, Inc. is seeking a TE3 Test Engineer to join the Test Engineering team in Scottsdale.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software testing or quality engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and software development lifecycle.
• Experience in testing web, API, database, and integrated enterprise applications.
• Experience in working in Agile development environments.
• Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools.
• Strong SQL and data validation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead testing activities for medium to large projects and strategic initiatives.
• Develop test plans, test cases, test data, and testing approaches based on business and technical requirements.
• Execute functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, API, and data validation testing.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and communicate defects, risks, and quality concerns.
• Perform root cause analysis and support defect resolution efforts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define quality goals and acceptance criteria.
• Support release validation, deployment testing, and post-release verification activities.
• Analyze system behavior and data to validate business processes and system integrations.
• Identify opportunities to improve test coverage through automation and reusable testing assets.
• Utilize AI-assisted testing techniques and tools to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity.
• Ensure test evidence, documentation, and deliverables meet organizational standards and compliance requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and share testing best practices across teams.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist in defining and tracking quality metrics and reporting project test status.

The Test Engineering is the team that is responsible for the quality of the choice hotel’s products we develop and deliver. As a key member of our Test Engineering department, you will be responsible to ensure the reliability, functionality, and quality of software systems and applications used in various aspects of the hospitality sector with primary focus on enhances guest experience, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency. Your Experience, Skills & Competencies

Employment Experience

• 6+ years of software testing or quality engineering experience.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and software development lifecycle.
• Experience in testing web, API, database, and integrated enterprise applications.
• Experience in working in Agile development environments.
• Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools.
• Strong SQL and data validation skills.

• Continuous learner with a passion for improving technical and testing skills.
• Experience in Finance and/or Hospitality domains is a plus.

Education Requirements

Your Team

• This is an individual contributor role that will report to the Manager of Test Engineering.

You will have 5-6 peer teammates and collaborate with cross functional departments on a regular basis.
