Job summary

Qualifications

Job description

The New Product Verification Department ensures the safety, reliability, and effectiveness of new products, including da Vinci and Ion robotic product lines, diagnostic systems, endoscopic instruments, and accessories.

The Test Engineer will work with the product development team to verify new designs, identify issues related to designs and processes, and develop standardized test methods.

Required Skills and Experience

• Familiarity with equipment used for performance measurements on electromechanical systems.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems, test equipment, and testing practices.
• Experience using measuring equipment such as force gauges, calipers, Instron, and oscilloscopes.
• Ability to perform basic mechanical engineering calculations and dimensional analysis.
• Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software is highly preferred.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, or Arduino is a plus.
• Familiarity with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Ability to work with biological samples, including blood, tissue, and organs.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a similar field.
• Minimum of 2+ years of work experience in an engineering organization or research team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, or Arduino.
• Experience working with electromechanical systems.

Working Conditions

• Work in both an office and laboratory environment.
• Exposure to animal blood, tissue, detergents, and chemicals used for medical device reprocessing.
• Hands-on testing using robotic systems, mechanical test fixtures, microscopes, and electrical test fixtures.
