Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Test Automation Engineer to automate existing manual test cases for edge computing gateways. You will work hands-on with embedded hardware, edge devices, and communication protocols, focusing on Python-based test development and validation across hardware and software components.

The role involves converting manual tests to automated suites, developing API and system-level tests, and integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software test automation and product validation.
• Strong Python development and scripting ability.
• Experience with Pytest or similar frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with ReadyAPI.
• API testing for REST and SOAP services.
• Knowledge of HTTP protocols and web-based communications.
• Experience testing embedded systems, edge devices, gateways or connected hardware.
• Experience with CAN communication protocol.
• Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Strong troubleshooting in hardware/software environments.

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Test Automation Engineer to support the automation of existing manual test cases for edge computing devices (gateways) deployed on hardware products. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on product validation and test automation, not a traditional IT consulting position.

The ideal candidate has experience working directly with embedded hardware products, edge devices, communication protocols, and automated testing frameworks, with a strong background in Python-based test development.

Key Responsibilities

• Convert existing manual test cases into automated test suites within a Python-based test automation framework.
• Develop, maintain, and execute automated API and system-level tests for embedded edge devices and gateway products.
• Validate device functionality, communication interfaces, and end-to-end workflows across hardware and software components.
• Perform API testing for REST and SOAP web services using tools such as ReadyAPI and custom Python frameworks.
• Develop automated test scripts using Pytest and other Python testing libraries.

Required Qualifications
