Job summary

Det-Tronics is seeking a Test Engineer in the Systems Engineering Group in Bloomington, MN. The role focuses on ensuring our systems and assemblies meet Det-Tronics standards during final customer checkout and factory acceptance testing (FAT).

You will work with Det-Tronics Controllers (Eagle Quantum Premier) and control panels, tracing wiring, troubleshooting, and validating sequences of operations to meet customer needs and project timelines.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read low-voltage wiring schematics.
  • Familiarity with control panels and control panel design.
  • Willingness to work in Bloomington, MN office 8AM–4PM.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates professionalism to our customers.
  • Leads quality control for Det-Tronics Systems.
  • Works hand-in-hand with Systems Engineering / Design teams.
  • Supports Project Managers in delivering fully-functional equipment ON-TIME and ready for field install.
  • Helps keep up-to-date project documentation for Field Service teams.

The Opportunity

Det-Tronics is looking for a skilled Test Engineer in our Systems Engineering Group. In this role you will beresponsible for ensuring our systems & assemblies meet Det-Tronics standards during final customer checkout and factory acceptance testing (FAT).

  • You will be working with Det-Tronics Controllers (Eagle Quantum Premier) and control panels
  • Testing is an important step to ensure our life safety systems meet our demanding customers’ needs.
  • You will be working directly with customers, as well as Engineers, Project Managers and Manufacturing Teams
  • Understanding low-voltage wiring schematics, troubleshooting wiring issues, ensuring controller programs match written sequence of operations / cause & effect diagrams, working within control panel physical design constraints are some of the likely challenges you will be faced with.

What You Bring
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma / GED.
  • Able to read low-voltage wiring schematics
  • Familiar with Control Panels & Control Panel Design
  • Must be able to work in our Bloomington, MN office Monday – Friday 8AM – 4PM
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Trade School diploma or associate degree or bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Training
  • Experience with flame or gas detection / life safety systems
  • Experience with Fire Alarm systems or Building Automation Systems
  • AutoCAD Electrical experience
  • PLC / ladder-logic programming experience
  • Low-voltage field technician experience
  • Experience working with commissioning agents or customer inspectors
