Job summary

SCI Technology, a Sanmina Company, Huntsville, AL, is hiring a Test Engineer to design, develop and implement cost-effective electronics testing methods in a manufacturing setting. You will troubleshoot and support test systems, and ensure procedures meet Department and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship is required due to DoD contract requirements.
• Experience in designing, developing and implementing testing methods for electronics in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain test systems and equipment, and to write technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Write detailed test plans, maintenance procedures and test instructions.
• Execute structured problem solving efforts on test failures.
• Maintain test labor standards and capacity analysis for products.
• Produce technical reports for design, test and manufacturing teams.
• Communicate project status effectively to management.
• Identify and drive test/process improvements to closure.
• Communicate product software/hardware deficiencies to customers.
• Train technicians in debugging functional test failures and use of diagnostic equipment.
• Maintain test equipment including preventative maintenance and repair.

Test Engineer

Job Purpose

Designing, developing and implementing cost-effective methods of testing electronics in a manufacturing environment. Creating and maintaining test related processes and procedures according to Department and Customer requirements. Troubleshooting and maintaining test systems and equipment. Supporting electronics testing and functional failure debug.

Nature Of Duties And Responsibilities

• Writing detailed test plans, maintenance procedures, test operational work instructions and test procedures
• Executing structured problem solving efforts
• Maintaining the test labor standards and capacity analysis for products
• Writing technical reports to a multifaceted team related to design, test and electrical failures and manufacture of electronic products
• Effective and clear communication to management on status of projects
• Identifying and driving test and process improvements to closure
• Identifying and communicating product software and hardware design deficiencies to customers
• Training technicians in debug of functional test failures and use of diagnostic equipment
• Maintaining test equipment; including preventative maintenance, failure diagnostics, and equipment repair
• Ability to effectively work in a team environment
