Job summary

Insight Global seeks a hands-on thermal lab test engineer to run performance tests on cooling products, including precision air conditioners, CRACs, chillers and liquid cooling units. The role balances in-lab setup, desk work on test plans and data reviews, and collaboration with customers.

Job description

This is a hands-on thermal lab test engineer who runs and oversees performance testing on cooling products — precision air conditioners, CRACs, chillers, and liquid cooling units.

• 60% — In the Lab: Physically setting up test units, connecting instrumentation (thermocouples, pressure transducers, flow meters), running tests, monitoring data acquisition systems, troubleshooting when something reads wrong, calibrating instruments
• 25% — At the Desk: Writing test plans, reviewing data, creating reports/presentations, updating test procedures, working in LabVIEW to configure DAQ, coordinating with design engineers on what they need tested and how
• 15% — Collaboration/Customer-Facing: Presenting results to design engineering, running Factory Witness Tests for customers (walking them through the test, explaining results in real-time), directing technicians on daily priorities
