Job summary

Advantage Technical in the United States is seeking a seasoned test engineer to develop, maintain, and update test standards for new or enhanced products, and to execute testing that demonstrates quality.

You will work on assignments that require creativity, technical expertise, and independent judgment while contributing to engineering projects and technical approaches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering related to the position.
• Experience in Electrical, Mechanical, and Test engineering.
• 5+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree; 3+ years with a master’s; PhD entry-level.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update test standards for products.
• Execute and document tests.
• Identify and recommend test equipment, fixturing, or tooling.
• Prepare reports of testing data and provide recommendations.
• Train team members on utilization of test equipment and procedures.
• Keep abreast of new developments in engineering design, methods, and applications.
• Assist with the RFP process as related to testing needs.
• Promote the division’s quality management system per ISO standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow safety standards.
• Learn and continuously improve the quality management system.

Job description

In this role, you will develop, maintain, and update test standards for new or enhanced products, as well as execute testing that demonstrates the quality of our division’s products. You will work on assignments that require creativity, technical expertise, and independent judgment while contributing meaningfully to engineering projects and technical approaches.

Essential Functions

• Evaluate test requirements based on specifications, standard procedures, and internal/external requirements. Develop test plans and procedures.
• Execute and document tests.
• Identify and recommend test equipment, production equipment, fixturing, or tooling needed to meet product specifications.
• Prepare reports of testing data, evaluate results, and provide recommendations based on findings. Lead or contribute input for improvements.
• Train team members on utilization of test equipment and procedures.
• Keep abreast of new developments in engineering design, methods, and applications.
• Assist with the request‑for‑quote process as related to testing needs.
• Demonstrate the organization’s guiding principles.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area. Follow established safety and ergonomic standards.
• Perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and assist in other areas as needed.
• Learn, understand, continuously improve, and promote the division’s quality management system in accordance with ISO standards.

Education and Experience

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering in a field related to the position.
• Applicable engineering fields: Electrical, Mechanical, and Test.
• Experienced engineer with 5+ years of career experience with a bachelor’s degree; 3+ years with a master’s degree; PhD entry‑level; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
