When a user tries new sof tware, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful sof tware development. The hardware architecture must be designed to perform correctly, consistently, and safely. This all means rigorous sof tware and hardware testing. That’s why we need a knowledgeable test engineer like you who knows how to thoroughly test sof tware and work with designers or developers to make sure our team releases the best product possible.

As a Test Engineer on our team, you’ll work with testers, developers, and engineers to evaluate sof tware and hardware developed for the Department of Defense, U.S. Space Force, and U.S. Air Force. You’ll work on creating a test plan with test cases based on user stories. Using automation to streamline, and automated and manual processes, you’ll generate data and implement test cases to observe how sof tware and hardware performs, then document the results and communicate defects to the development team so they can start improving functionality.

This is an opportunity to leverage your skills by creating test plans and test procedures, executing those test procedures, and creating test reports to document test results. You'll also broaden your experience in various space‑related fields such as radar technology, space domain awareness, missile defense, satellite systems, and ground systems. Additionally, you’ll support fault detection, fault isolation, and fault recovery efforts during system integration testing from the component to system‑level. During and following all related system integration and test efforts, you’ll also support the aggregation and analysis of technical data while providing key inputs to final acceptance test reporting.

What You'll Work On

  • Prepare test plans, procedures, and reports.
  • Ensure effective communications between assigned engineers and all other participants in the integration and testing process.
  • Support an Agile sof tware development team.
  • Support the development of system test solutions in accordance with project technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Participate in, prepare, and execute comprehensive system or element‑level test plans and procedures, and test readiness reviews.
  • Document test requirements and met hodologies in the requirements management system.
  • Review system engineering documentation to ensure test plans and met hodologies meet system needs and are accurate, comprehensive, consistent, and complete.
  • Support the development of system integration plans, procedures, and scenarios used in the conduct of sof tware or hardware system integration testing.
  • Participate in engineering peer reviews as a document origi nato r or reviewer, to ensure technical quality and engineering rigor is appropriate.
  • Document and record integration activities, including plans, procedures, results, and deficiencies.
