Job summary

Pearson VUE in Washington, PA is seeking a part-time Test Center Manager to join our team. You will manage a small team of Test Administrators, coordinate staffing and training, and address facility issues while maintaining a secure, professional testing environment.

Starting pay is $19.00 per hour. The role requires flexible scheduling, shifts Mon–Sat between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM, with 2-3 Saturdays per month.

Qualifications

• At least 1-year customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
• High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
• Strong communication, team leading, and training skills, with exposure to a testing environment preferred.
• Must be flexible with work hours and days.

Responsibilities

• 60% of daily tasks are Test Administrator responsibilities: on-time site opening/closing, verify IDs, explain exam process, monitor examinees, maintain security, and assist with technical issues.
• 40% of daily tasks are Test Center Manager responsibilities: onsite manager of a small team, staffing/retention/scheduling, training and coaching staff, first contact for facility issues, multi-tasking.

You will utilize your communication and customer skills with external customers while also working to select new Test Administrators, provide job coaching, and fair performance appraisals to current employees.

Starting pay is $19.00 per hour.

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS

Our ideal candidate demonstrates teamwork and has the availability to work a variety of shifts any day from Monday through Saturday, between the hours of 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM , with about 2-3 Saturdays per month.

Candidate must be open to flexible scheduling.

This is strictly a part-time position and will remain as such, 35 to 40 hours per week , with an expectation to work more hours if needed.

You must be available to assist local sites as needed and to address operational problems when not at the test center.

RESPONSIBILITIES

60% of daily tasks are Test Administrator responsibilities:

• Performs on-time site opening and closing procedures.
• Understands all testing procedures.
• Checks in examinees, verifies identification and explains the exam process.
• Monitors examinees while testing.
• Maintains a secure testing environment.
• Communicates with internal technical support to investigate and fix technical issues.
• Strictly adheres to company policies using careful judgment.
• Responsible for maintaining a professional and clean testing center with light housekeeping duties.
• Arrive on time for all scheduled shifts.

40% of daily tasks are Test Center Manager responsibilities:

• The Test Center Manager is the onsite manager of a small team of Test Administrator employees.
• Site staffing/hiring/retention/conflict resolution/scheduling.
• Trains, develops, and coaches staff.
• First contact for facility issues.
• Ability to multi-task.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be flexible with work hours and days.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Windows applications, Internet, and email.
• Ability to operate a computer, fax, and telephone.
• Must maintain focus in quiet environments and hear soft-spoken words.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally.
• Able to stand for long periods and escort candidates frequently per shift.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and lift from a stooped position.
• Must see small details at a distance and clearly read names on ID cards and screens.
