Job summary

Global Business Ser. 4u in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a software engineer focused on test automation to design and improve automated testers and systems. On-site position requiring collaboration with hardware and software teams.

You will gather requirements, write code in LabVIEW, C, and Python, and help test, deploy, and maintain software, following best practices and version control. MATLAB/Simulink or Java experience is a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct requirements gathering and analysis to understand software problem/domain, hardware-software interfaces, and overall software characteristics.
• Write software code using programming/scripting/database languages.
• Support testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution by fixing issues, handling scope changes, and implementing enhancements.
• Apply software development best practices: coding standards, code reviews, source control, build, testing, and operations.

Designs, develops, and maintain software applications for controlling electromechanical automated testers and systems

The Work Includes

• Conducting requirements gathering and analysis to understand the domain of the software problem and/or functionality, the interfaces between hardware and software, and the overall software characteristics
• Using programming, scripting, and/or database languages to write the software code
• Supporting software testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding software enhancements
• Applying knowledge of software development best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering/ STEM
• 2+ years’ experience within test automation
• Proficient programming in LabView, C & Python
• Plus if experience with MATLAB/ Simulink or Java
