Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • 6+ years of experience as an SDET or in test-focused software engineering.
  • Strong programming skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major UI automation framework (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
  • Solid experience automating REST and/or gRPC APIs.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for test automation.
  • Solid SQL skills and experience with database validation.
  • Strong understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and modern web architectures.
  • Excellent debugging, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experiencedSoftware Development Engineer in Test (SDET)to bring strong software engineering practices to the discipline of test automation. In this role you will design, build, and continuously improve automation frameworks, write production-quality test code, and partner with development teams to embed quality engineering throughout the SDLC. The ideal candidate will combine strong programming skills with deep knowledge of testing strategy, including unit, integration, end-to-end, performance, and security testing in modern distributed systems. In this role you will work closely with cross-functional partners — product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders — to translate ambiguous requirements into well-engineeredsolutions, andwill be expected to raise the bar through code review, design review, and mentorship of more junior engineers. The successful candidate brings strong engineering discipline, a clear communication style, anda track recordof shipping meaningful work that holds up well in production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and build robust, scalable test automation frameworks for web, API, mobile, and microservice testing.
  • Write production-quality automated test code in Java, Python, JavaScript, or C# using frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, RestAssured, or Pact.
  • Implement contract testing using Pact or similar tools tovalidateservice contracts in microservice ecosystems.
  • Build comprehensive CI/CD test pipelines integrated with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
  • Develop performance test suites using JMeter, Gatling, k6, or Locust, including realistic load models and result analysis.
  • Implement security testing fundamentals including dependency scanning, SAST, DAST, and OWASP-based checks.
  • Lead test strategy discussions, including risk-based testing, exploratory testing, and shift-left practices.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and architects toidentifyquality risks early.
  • Perform root-cause analysis of productionincidents, andtranslate findings into automated regression tests.
  • Drive continuous improvement of test coverage, test reliability, and time-to-feedback.
  • Mentor junior QA engineers and uphold engineering rigor in the testing community.
  • Maintain comprehensive test documentation, traceability, and reporting dashboards, applying disciplined engineering practices and partnering closely with stakeholders to ensure outcomes are durable, well-documented, and aligned with broader team and platform standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience as an SDET or in test-focused software engineering roles.
  • Strong programming skills in at least one of Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major UI automation framework (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
  • Solid experience automating REST and/or GRPCAPIs.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for test automation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure tosecurity testing tools (OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite,Snyk).
  • Familiarity with chaos engineering and resilience testing.
  • ISTQB or equivalent QA certification.
