You will own activity within an assigned territory, spend significant time in the field, and partner closely with branch teams to deliver on customer commitments.

What You Will Do

Territory & Business Development

  • Develop and execute a focused territory plan for existing and prospective customers.
  • Maintain a consistent schedule of purposeful customer engagement, including prospecting, account reviews, jobsite visits, and follow-up meetings.
  • Build new customer relationships, expand active accounts, and pursue opportunities that support profitable territory growth.

  • Plan customer meetings with clear objectives and follow through on commitments in a timely manner

Solution & Customer Management

  • Understand customer applications and coordinate appropriate equipment and service solutions.
  • Visit customer facilities and project sites to assess needs, gather job requirements, and recommend practical rental solutions.
  • Prepare proposals, support pricing discussions, and maintain strong relationships throughout the rental lifecycle.
  • Use CRM tools consistently to document customer interactions, manage accounts and opportunities, and maintain forward-looking follow-up activity.

Branch Collaboration

  • Communicate customer demand, timing, job requirements, and service expectations to branch teams.
  • Work with sales coordinators, operations, service, and transportation to support safe and successful execution.
  • Address service concerns promptly and coordinate responsible resolutions that protect long-term customer relationships.
  • Support collection efforts by maintaining customer contact and partnering internally on past-due account follow-up when needed.

Safety & Professional Standards

  • Follow customer-site, driving, company, and safety requirements at all times.
  • Maintain assigned PPE, tools, and equipment in a safe and operational condition. May occasionally operate company vehicles and transport pumps and related equipment in support of business operations.
  • Keep the company-provided vehicle clean, professional, and suitable for customer and jobsite visits.
  • Represent NTE professionally and accurately in every customer, branch, and field interaction.

Field Work & Travel

This is a field-based sales role requiring frequent local and regional travel throughout the assigned territory. The position involves regular customer visits, jobsite reviews, equipment assessments, safety orientations, and support during project start-ups. Conditions may include outdoor weather, uneven terrain, noise, dust, and active equipment. Appropriate PPE must be worn as required by NTE and the customer site.

To Succeed, You Will Need

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of industrial sales and customer-facing experience.
  • 3+ years of outside sales experience, preferably within equipment rental, industrial services, construction, manufacturing, oil and gas, or a related industry.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical and possess a valid driver's license for more than 3 years with a moderately clean driving record.
  • Possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid TWIC card.
  • Demonstrated success in business development, account management, and achieving sales goals.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, relationship-building, and customer-service skills.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work independently in a field-based environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM platforms; experience with Salesforce and RentalMan is preferred.

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to drive regularly within the assigned territory and travel regionally as business needs require.
  • Ability to walk active jobsites, navigate uneven surfaces, climb stairs, and stand for extended periods during site visits.
  • Ability to wear required PPE and work safely around operating equipment and changing site conditions.

In Return, We Offer

  • A learning culture that supports individual development and career growth.
  • A competitive compensation plan featuring a guaranteed first-year earnings program.
  • Uncapped commissions with the opportunity to exceed guaranteed earnings through sales performance.
  • Company-issued truck, mobile phone, and laptop.
