A Day in the Life (summary): The Territory Manager (TM) is a field-based Endoscopy sales role. The TM will call on healthcare organizations, primarily hospitals, in a defined geographic area. The Senior TM educates physicians and nurses on the clinical advantages of the GI product portfolio and works to expand GI product utilization through market development and sales activities. The TM should continually develop clinical knowledge to serve as a product expert and convey information effectively to support optimal portfolio utilization across healthcare providers.

Territory: Alabama and the panhandle.

Responsibilities
  • Plan & Execute: Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales quotas by driving product adoption through clinical education focused on GI and HPB anatomy.
  • Understand product line features, benefits and proof sources; routinely see all customers in the assigned geographic area.
  • Build excellent relationships with healthcare professionals and physicians; educate physicians and clinical personnel on GI products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and sales peers; communicate and share best practices.
  • Understand and communicate the reimbursement environment for all products; routinely update sales action plans and forecasts.
  • Provide solution-oriented strategies to facilitate product adoption and accelerate sales growth; launch new devices in the territory.
Clinical Excellence
  • Provide clinical product demonstrations and education to increase customer understanding and proficiency in the GI product line.
  • Demonstrate disease state expertise across relevant areas; articulate clinical and journal articles related to disease states.
Administrative
  • Maintain administrative responsibilities in Salesforce.com; complete expense and sales reports and other business requests.
  • Complete online trainings within assigned timelines; adhere to Medtronic code of conduct.
Position Success Metrics
  • Achieve sales quotas; accelerate market adoption of the GI portfolio.
  • Demonstrate sales performance relative to peers; show ability to influence internal partners.
  • Demonstrate clinical expertise; maintain positive customer feedback; support Centers of Excellence and Key Opinion Leader development.
  • Ensure travel expenses stay within budgets.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 3 years of field sales experience
Nice to Have
  • Medical device sales experience; capital sales experience; GI experience
  • Experience with business planning, forecasting, and formal sales training (preferably Fortune 500)
  • Proven track record of exceeding quotas; proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Experience selling to physicians in procedural settings; degree in Life Sciences, Medicine, or related field
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with partners; ability to multi-task and work independently

Base salary example: $85,000.00 (applies across the United States with local variations).
