Job summary

Territory Manager Position Summary

Barnes Healthcare Services is seeking a Territory Manager who is more than a salesperson. This role is for a mission-driven relationship builder who can develop strong partnerships, support customer needs, and help drive growth while representing the Barnes Way. The Territory Manager supports the organization’s business plan and strategic direction by building relationships with healthcare providers, referral partners, hospital systems, clinics, physician offices, and other key decision-makers. This individual will demonstrate how Barnes products and services meet the needs of patients and organizations while supporting continuous growth in revenue, profitability, and long-term partnerships. The right candidate will lead with transparency, accountability, strong customer service, critical thinking, and a people-first mindset. This role requires direct physician contact and the ability to build trusted relationships with physician offices and clinical referral partners.

Essential Functions
  • Models the Barnes culture and holds self and others accountable to the Barnes Way.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with referral sources, healthcare partners, providers, physician offices, clinical teams, and key decision-makers.
  • Identifies new sales leads and develops business opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Communicates with customers and prospects to understand needs and recommend appropriate products or services.
  • Demonstrates the value and benefit of Barnes products and services based on customer and patient needs.
  • Provides excellent customer service through ongoing communication, relationship management, and timely issue resolution.
  • Maintains communication with existing and previous customers regarding new products, services, updates, and enhancements.
  • Partners with internal teams to ensure customer needs are communicated and supported.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of sales activities, calls, orders, lost business, customer concerns, and referral partner feedback.
  • Provides periodic territory sales forecasts and updates to leadership.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Business, Healthcare Administration, Respiratory Therapy, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related sales, business development, healthcare relationship management, or clinical respiratory care experience required.
  • Direct physician contact and experience working with physician offices required.
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred.
  • Respiratory Therapist credentials and experience in respiratory care highly preferred.
  • Clinical degree, licensure, or direct clinical experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, customer service, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to think critically, solve problems, and identify customer needs.
  • Self-starter with strong organization, accountability, and professionalism.
  • Must demonstrate alignment with the Barnes mission, culture, and commitment to taking care of people.
Working Conditions
  • Prolonged periods outside of the office meeting with prospects, referral partners, and customers.
  • Travel within assigned territory required.
  • Responding to inquiries and calls during and outside normal business hours as business needs require.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
