Job summary

Clean Harbors, Inc. is seeking a Territory Class B Driver (Utility Driver) to provide primary route coverage for the assigned District and support vacation, sick time, and turnover.

This role operates Class B Tanker Truck, Box Trucks or Lube Delivery Truck with up to 3 weeks out of the month and about 1 week at home. Travel will span from West Virginia to Long Island, NY on a 3 weeks on/1 week off rotation, with scheduled time at the home branch.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsement within 90 days of employment.
• Ability to travel extensively, up to 3 weeks away from home.
• Must pass background check, drug test and medical exam.
• Follow Respiratory Protection standards for respirator positions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety as a top priority and follow all safety policies.
• Operate Class B trucks and assist field laborers as needed.
• Load and unload trucks and manage proper vehicle placarding.
• Cover routes as a backup driver across the region.
• Maintain logs, time sheets and reports per DOT and company rules.
• Adhere to all local, state and federal regulations.
• Be on call for emergency response on a rotating basis.
• Assist with site remediation and hazardous materials handling as assigned.

Clean Harbors is seeking a Territory Class B Driver (Utility Driver) to provide primary route coverage for the assigned District as well as other Districts as needed to support vacation, sick time, and turnover. This position will operate Class B Tanker Truck, Box Trucks and or Lube Delivery Truck and travel up to 3 weeks out of the month on average with 1 week home.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner
• Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers when needed (team atmosphere where everyone helps)
• Operate a variety of Class B trucks
• Loading and unloading of trucks
• Will serve as backup driver to cover routes when needed across the region
• Ensure customer satisfaction at time of service
• Proper placarding of vehicles to meet Company and DOT requirements/regulations
• Maintain daily logs, time sheets, and various reports
• Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules
• Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements
• Safely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures
• Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned
• By position, ability to be on call for emergency response on rotating basis every other week
• By position, site-remediation, equipment decontamination, and the handling of hazardous materials

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Class B CDL
• Obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsement within 90 days of employment
• Ability to use various mobile devices
• Ability to travel extensively, up to 3 weeks away from home
• Perform physical functions per job requirements
• Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position
• Per OSHA's Respiratory Protection standard, 29 CFR 1910.34, employees in positions requiring respirators are required to meet facial hair standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Commercial driver experience
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsement
• Previous Hazmat experience
• Ability to operate a manual transmission
• Previous manual labor experience
