Job summary

Northern Lights Locating & Inspection, Inc. is seeking an experienced Utility Locator in Huber Heights, OH.

You will locate underground utilities in compliance with 811 laws, read maps and GIS data, use electronic locating equipment, and accurately mark utilities with paint and flags. This full-time, on-site role requires independence, 2+ years of locating experience, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to work in all weather.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of 811 laws and best locating practices.
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass a drug screen.
• Willingness to work overtime and on-call rotation.
• Excellent communication with excavators, owners, and team.
• Willing to work in all weather conditions and maintain equipment.

Responsibilities

• Locate underground utilities in compliance with 811 laws.
• Read and interpret utility maps, as-built drawings, and GIS data.
• Use electronic locating equipment and multiple locating methods.
• Accurately mark utilities using paint and flags.
• Document work using a mobile app with photos and reports.
• Investigate and document excavation-related utility damages.
• Participate in an on-call rotation.
