Job summary

Sundance Mountain Resort is seeking a Terrain Park Attendant Level I to monitor and maintain terrain park features, assist guests, and promote safety, etiquette, and guest relations on the mountain.

The role requires weekend and holiday availability, day or night shifts, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Employee discounts and a Season Pass are offered as benefits to team members.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Personal skiing or snowboarding skills of level 8 or better.
  • Able to use 2-way radios to communicate emergencies and updates.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain terrain park signage, fencing, and banners.
  • Fill out daily terrain park logs.
  • Open and close terrain park daily and manage entrances.
  • Monitor terrain park features and equipment.
  • Rebuild ramps after closure and ensure safety checks.

Job description

Rate of Pay: $17 /hr

Job Title: TERRAIN PARK ATTENDANT Level I

Rate of Pay: $17 /hr

Shift: Day shift: 9 am – 4 pm; Night Shift: 4 pm – 9pm

Full-time: minimum of 4 days a week, occasional Sundays required

Part-time: minimum of 2 days a week, Saturdays, occasional Sundays required

MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS & HOLIDAYS

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly

Summary

Monitors and maintains terrain features in the freestyle park and other locations where applicable. Act as a host in regard to crowd supervision, safety awareness, education, Freestyle Terrain etiquette, and guest relations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and maintain terrain park signage, closures, fencing, and banner tape.
  • Fill out daily terrain park logs.
  • Open and close terrain park daily. (Set up and take down entrance gates)
  • Maintain ongoing monitoring of terrain park features and equipment.
  • Rebuild ramps of each feature upon closure of Terrain Park.
  • Manually test and visually inspect each feature in the terrain park.
  • Mitigate risk by grooming entrance and exit ramps and de-burring features.
  • Communicate via radio with ski patrol when incidents occur and close access to park features to guests until the incident is cleared.
  • Communicate professionally with guests.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Pick up and manage trash and recycling found in Terrain park boundaries, and other areas of the mountain.
  • Knowledge and experience riding terrain park features.
  • Understanding of terrain park flow from feature to feature.
  • Ensure aesthetic appeal and cleanliness of the terrain park.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED
  • Personal skiing or snowboarding skills of level 8 or better.
  • Able to use 2-way radios to communicate emergencies and receive alerts and updates from ski patrol.
  • Park attendants must have a basic knowledge of how to ride small terrain park features. Attendants must have the basic understanding of how a terrain park should flow from feature to feature.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk/hike; use hands to shovel and rake snow; reach with arms and hands; climb or balance, and regularly talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, and/or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
